Doris R. Eddie

RANDOLPH — Doris R. Eddie, 90, Randolph, died April 11, 2018, at Faith Regional Health Services, Norfolk, following a brief illness.

Visitation was Monday at Johnson Funeral Home, Randolph.

Funeral services were April 17 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Randolph, with Rev. Russ Lambert, Immanuel Lutheran Church, Coleridge, officiating, assisted by Richard Bloomquist, P.M.A.

Interment was in the Randolph Cemetery, Randolph.

Pallbearers were Doris’ grandchildren and greatgrandchildren, Jim and Sherri Eddie; Sara and Mark Ohlrich; Jesse Eddie; Jennifer Eddie; Callie Eddie and Jarad Treat; and great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Dylan Eddie, and Bailey Treat.

Doris was born July 4, 1927, on a farm near Randolph, to August Sr. and Rosa (Brozek) Kruger. She attended Pierce County District #58, near Randolph, and graduated from Randolph High School. Doris married E. Don Eddie, Nov. 19, 1943, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, West Point. The couple lived on a farm southwest of Belden until 1961, when they purchased a farm northwest of Randolph where she resided ever since.

She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and former member of St. John’s Ladies Aide, Dorcas Circle, Fairview Followers Club, the Carrolliners Bowling Team, Magnet Market Bowling Team and various card clubs.

Doris enjoyed being a homemaker, cooking and baking, especially her Christmas candies and cookies. She loved polka music, her family and keeping up with the latest news and politics.

Surviving Doris are her four children, Larry and Theresa Eddie, McLean; Gina Eddie, Papillion; Rick Eddie, Randolph and Mike and Karen Eddie, McLean; five grandchildren, Jim and Sherri Eddie, Arlington; Sara and Mark Ohlrich, Fremont; Jesse Eddie, West Point; Jennifer Eddie, Lincoln; Callie Eddie and Jarad Treat, Kearney; three great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Dylan Eddie, Arlington, and Bailey Treat, Kearney; one sister, Phyllis Powers, Tucson, Ariz.; one sister-in-law, Wilma Kruger, Lincoln; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded her in death are her parents; husband, E. Don Eddie, in 1987; three sisters, Ella Meyer, Ida Stueckrath and Edna Been; four brothers, Herman Kruger, Clarence Kruger, August Kruger, Jr. and Alfred Kruger; and sister-in-law, Joyce Jacobson.
