Donna Jean Wiechelman

HARTINGTON — Donna Jean Wiechelman, 86, Hartington, died Nov. 10, 2017, at her residence. Visitation was Monday at the Wintz Funeral Home, Hartington, and resumed an hour before services Tuesday, at the church. Funeral Services were Nov. 14 at the First Congregational UCC, Hartington, with Rev. Gary Kimm officiating. Burial was in the Hartington City Cemetery, Hartington. Pallbearers were Jess Hoskinson, Jon Wiechelman, Jamie Norris, Aaron Wiechelman, Christine DeBlauw and Alice Miller. Donna was born March 1, 1931, in Coleridge, to William Laing and Laura Mabel (Strivens) Mitchell. She grew up in the Coleridge area and graduated from Coleridge High School in 1949. Donna married Kenneth D. Hoskinson March 3, 1954, in Sioux City, Iowa. She then married Irwin L. Wiechelman Jan. 3, 1963, in Hartington. Donna was the bookkeeper for Wiechelman Repair, Hartington, while also working at the nursing home in Hartington for 26 years. She retired June 1, 1998. Donna was a member of the First Congregational UCC, Hartington. She enjoyed sewing quilts and gardening. She especially loved her rose garden. Donna is survived by her three children, Jeanie and Dan Hinkel, Hartington; Jess Hoskinson, Stanton; Jon and Janet Wiechelman, Hartington; four grandchildren, Jamie and Scott Norris, Plainview; Aaron Wiechelman, Hartington; Christine DeBlauw and friend, Jake Lewis, Gayville, S.D.; and Alice and Ted Miller, Menominee; five great-grandchildren and two greatgreat- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Irwin, Feb. 10, 1998, at the age of 69; a brother, Don Mitchell; and a sister, Betty Lou Hewitt.
