SANFORD, N. C. - We are made up of the moments that take our breath away. DixieLee (Reed) Tripp lived a life full of those moments. A wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, DixieLee was a woman of many talents and an imagination that was contagious.

DixieLee left the confines of this world on July 7, 2023, at her home in Sanford, N.C. She went peacefully at the age of 86 with her family by her side.

DixieLee was born to V. Glaze and A. Dorinda (Riessen) Reed on April 6,

1937, in Osmond, where she graduated

DixieLee put her college career aside to raise her family, but later went back to college at the age of 40 at Northeast Community College in Norfolk and later graduated with a bachelor of arts degree from the former Dana College in Blair. She competed in forensic competitions at the local, state, and national levels, earning numerous awards and recog- nition.
