Cindy was born on July 19, 1953, to Henry and Henrietta (Behrmann) Huner of Napoleon, OH. She was born and raised on a farm in northwest Ohio, attended St. John Lutheran School, Ridgeville Corners High School and graduated from Napoleon High School. She went on to attend St. John College in Winfield, KS, and moved to Osmond, where she served Immanuel Lutheran Church as a parish worker. She soon decided that she would never marry a farmer, a Kumm, or drive on country roads.

God had other plans, and a good sense of humor, as she married a local farmer, Marvin Kumm on Aug. 6, 1977, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Osmond. God blessed Cindy and Marv’s love for each other with 46 years of marriage and four sons: David, and wife Sarah of Lincoln; Jeff, and fiancé Kyleigh Lewis of Omaha; Rich, and wife Emily of Lincoln; and Joel, and wife Erin of Osmond. Cindy was a wonderful grandmother to her six grandchildren: Trenton, Taryn, Evynn, Elliot, Grayson, and one on the way. She enjoyed attending their activities, watching and caring for them, and playing games with them. Her boys, their families, and her grandchildren were her pride and joy. Family gatherings, holidays, and card games with her boys brought her laughter and joy. Cindy was a woman of faith. She faithfully served Immanuel Lutheran Church and School in many ways: as a parish worker, a volunteer school librarian, a Sunday School teacher, VBS leader, church dinner coordinator, a member of Ladies' Aid, funeral luncheon committee, and member of the Legion Auxiliary PEO. Cindy also loved music and enjoyed singing in the church choir. Outside of church, Cindy served on the library board for the City of Osmond. Cindy also gave back to the community as a substitute teacher for more than a decade and enjoyed serving the students and staffs in Creighton, Plainview, Osmond, Wausa, Randolph, St. Ludger’s, St.

Mary’s, and other parochial schools in northeast Nebraska. She treasured the relationships she built with students and staff members, related well to students of all ages, and impacted many lives.

In addition to her husband, Marvin, and her four sons, Cindy is survived by her sisters, Harriet Brandt of Marshfield, WI, and Barbara Huner (Kathy Crier) of Longmont, CO.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, Henry and Henrietta Huner.

John 14:27 “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.” Heaven welcomed a faithful soul. Cindy, well done, good and faithful servant!
