Carole “Tutti” Marie Reber

Funeral services for Carole “Tutti” Marie Reber, 72, of Atkinson will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Atkinson, with Pastor Leif Hasskarl and Pastor Glenn Emory of- ficiating. Organist Sharon Corkle will accompany the congregation. Visitation was held on Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2024, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Atkinson with a 7 p.m. prayer service. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery at Atkinson. Carole “Tutti” Marie Reber of Atkinson passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Friday, Jan. 26, 2024, at Plainview Manor in Plainview. Tutti was born on July 2, 1951, in Stuart, the daughter of Robert and IlaMe (Johnson) Engler. She attended grade school in O’Neill until 1961 when the family moved to Osmond. She finished

her education at Osmond Community Schools, graduating in 1969. Tutti then moved to Atkinson, where she lived and cared for her grandfather on the family ranch. She was united in marriage to Gary Reber on April 29, 1972, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, where she remained a faithful member. Gary had a son, Gary Allen, and to the union were born two children, Jory and Johnel. Tutti and Gary remained friends until his passing in 2014. Tutti owned the H&R Block franchise of- fice in Atkinson for many years and was well known to the community as their tax preparer. In 2000, Tutti moved to Norfolk for a few short years and returned to Atkinson in 2005, where she opened her own accounting office and continued to work until her illness in 2013. Due to complications of her cancer, she had been staying with her mother in Osmond, where she had been an active attendee of the Immanuel Lutheran Church and Senior Center. She made many cherished friendships and enjoyed her time there. Tutti loved and cared for her family very much. She was a devoted mother and adored her grandchildren, who were the love of her life. She especially valued her time with her special granddaughter, Marissa.

Tutti is survived by her children, Gary Allen (fiancé Pam) of Gregory, SD, Jory of Wayne and Johnel (Scott) Thies of Grand Island; grandchildren, Kelsey (Christian), Marissa and Bryce, and her great-grandchildren Grayson and Isla; mother, IlaMae Engler of Osmond; brothers Joe (Sue) Engler of Lincoln, Chris (Patty) Engler of Madison, Mark (Linda) Engler of Beatrice, Bruce (Betty) Engler of Atkinson, and Kevin (Connie) Engler of Basehor, KS; sisters, Barb (Randy) Freivogel of Leavenworth, KS, and Susie (Dan) Dennis of Osmond, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Robert J Engler, and niece Bridgette Engler.
