Coleridge Area Fund gifts funds

COLERIDGE — The Coleridge Area Fund Advisory Committee recently received two $500 grants from its Unrestricted Endowment Account to local worthy causes that are improving quality of life for those living in the Coleridge Area. Recipients of these funds were the Coleridge Christians Caring and the Laurel-Concord-Coleridge Middle School.

Coleridge Christians Caring is a multi-denominational group that “works to be the hands and feet of Christ in our community.” Families and individuals in need can receive food from the pantry and financial help as funds are available. The grant funds will be used to help the group update the food pantry shelving.

The Laurel-Concord-Coleridge Middle School will be using the grant funds to build a GaGa Ball Pit. GaGa Ball is a popular outdoor game that will be accessible to not only LCC students but also community members and families to play.

The Coleridge Area Fund Advisory Committee is focused on building an unrestricted endowment. Similar to a community savings account, unrestricted endowments are an important tool to keep hometowns across Nebraska growing, thriving and improving for future generations.

While a portion of the income earned by the unrestricted endowment is granted annually to fund projects and programs to benefit the community, the principal remains intact and grows every year, forever. The Coleridge Area Fund is an affiliated fund of Nebraska Community Foundation. Tax deductible contributions can be made directly to the Coleridge Area Fund at PO Box 3, Coleridge, NE 68727 or online at www.nebcommfound.org/give/coleridgearea-fund.

The Coleridge Area Fund is a community-led effort to use philanthropy to sustain and build the community of Coleridge and the surrounding area. The Fund works to increase charitable giving and to make grants that help create a sustainable and prosperous community. The Fund encourages people from all walks of life to give back to the community by providing a full range of charitable giving opportunities.
