Penny War pays big dividends for local students
WAUSA — Pennies can really add up. That’s what Wausa Elementary School students recently found out.
The Elementary K-6 students put on a Penny War back in November.
The Penny War was in place of the traditional coin challenge. The fund-raising event was organized by the Wausa Parent Council.
The total amount raised by the elementary students was $728.68, with a $200 match from Commercial State Bank for a grand total of $928.68.
The Penny War fundraiser was done to purchase LEGOS for classrooms to use for indoor recess.
