Wilbur-Ellis Company is Outstanding Fair Supporter

PIERCE — The following announcement of the Outstanding Fair Supporter Award was read during the ceremony held Friday evening, July 31, at the Pierce County Fair.

The Outstanding Fair Supporter Award is given to a business who has been involved with the Pierce County Fair with monetary support, labor, equipment and such. This year the Outstanding Fair Supporter Award is presented to the Wilbur-Ellis Company.

This coming year, Wilbur-Ellis will be celebrating their 100th year of business. Wilbur-Ellis started in San Francisco in 1921 by two classmates to trade fish meal and fish oil to flower growers.

Today the company has three divisions – Agribusiness, Feed and Connel Brothers which is a specialty chemical ingredient distributor with locations all over the world, with Nebraska facilities in Orchard, O’Neill, Laurel and Prosser. Locally, Wilbur-Ellis continues to serve Pierce, Antelope, Knox and Holt county growers with all their inputs and applications.

Wilbur-Ellis is a Grand Champion sponsor of the Pierce County Fair, as well as loaning equipment for use during the fair.
