What Women Want vendor show was big success

COLERIDGE  — Coleridge was a happening place during the “What Women Want” vendor show on Saturday, Oct. 13.

The event brought vendors and participants from near and far on a sunny, warm fall day.

“It went very well for our first annual event, the morning was very busy for the vendors with lots of people coming through,” said Stefanie Brummels, Coleridge  Community Club member and co-coordinator of the vendor show.

Lily Fox, daughter of Kelli Fox, greeted people at the door of the community building and ensured participants signed their wrist band and registered for the door prizes.

Fox got the honor of being in charge of drawing names for the lucky door prize winners throughout the day.

Coleridge native Holly Wintz brought her LuluRoe clothing line to the event to offer to participants. “It has been a fun day, I’ve seen a lot of people from high school. I have enjoyed reconnecting with so many people,” Wintz said.

The Coleridge Carvers booth had beautiful, intricate wooden creations.

Bob Yost explained the hand-carving process, the length of time invested in carving, and how he finds his pieces of wood.

First Tuesday Quilt Club quilts were displayed for all to see the handy work of the quilters and even get inspiration from the many unique, different styles of quilts, pillows, table runners, and bags.

“The ultimate nacho has been very popular” said jokingly Rick Gathje, owner of Tacos and More. “This has been a good event,” he continued to say.

Diana Smith and Becky Sohler taught two sessions of Chalk Couture.

Participants were able to purchase a sign, customize it using the many stencils and chalk paint.

Many participants took advantage of making unique signs, some intended for gifts while other signs were intended to be enjoyed in their own homes as personalized décor.

“I thought it was a fantastic day along with  wonderful weather. The Community Club wanted to do something different with a focus on the women of the Coleridge and surrounding area,” said Jacie Burbach.

The day was well received by participants, vendors were very upbeat and positive. Coleridge Community Club members will have the opportunity to continue to grow this event for years to come.
