Wausa’s 75th Annual Smorgasbord is this weekend

Annual community event is Oct. 20

WAUSA — The week you’ve been waiting for all year is here! Wausa’s 75th Annual Smorgasbord is this week on Saturday, October 20 from 5:00-7:00 pm! Friends, family and many out of town guests will be here in Wausa to enjoy the celebration.The Smorgasbord committee is finalizing all thedetails as the tables are being set up and adorned with colorful Scandinavian decorations. Kitchens throughout the community are busy preparing deli- cious Swedish delicacies. You won’t want to miss Wausa’s distinctive annual event!

Did you get your ticket yet? It’s not too late! They are available at Commercial State Bank, Mainstreet grocery and Wausa Lockers. Prices for the meal are $18.00 for adults and $8.00 for children in kindergarten – age 10. Tickets for all workers can be picked up at Commercial State Bank. Be sure to pick yours up if you haven’t already done so.

When you arrive for the Smorgasbord, first youwill be greeted in the upper auditorium and enter- tained with music, lively conversation, and local Swedish adult and children dancers. Downstairs the feast awaits, with waiters and waitresses in Swedish costume ready to assist you to a brightlydecorated table. Egg coffee servers will refill yourempty cups and water glasses.

A table will be provided upstairs for those who are unable to make it downstairs. A menu will be provided, and a plate will be brought up to them. For those unable to attend, dinner can be delivered to your door. Copies of the menu are available at Commercial State Bank, the Wausa Nursing Home, and the Countryside Villa assisted living facility. If you are using the delivery option, please make your menu choices at time of purchase. Delivery orders are due by Friday, October 19th at 3 pm.

For those who are preparing food, on Saturday afternoon a group of young people will be waiting in the alley behind the auditorium to carry your food to the basement. We ask you to enter the alley behind the auditorium from Sherman Street. You can drop off your food anytime that afternoon between 1:30 and 4:00, when youth will be available to assist you.

The Smorgasbord would not be possible without the diligent efforts of the entire community. It is an event of which Wausa can be proud. Not only does it display the rich heritage of the community, but it provides residents an opportunity to work together towards a common goal. Wausa’s adults and youth work together to make the Smorgasborda successful event. Profits from the Smorgasbordgo directly back into the community for projects and scholarships.
