Water restrictions begin next week
RANDOLPH - All residents using Randolph’s water system will be placed on a four-day water restriction for scheduled maintenance of the water tower.
The water restriction is in effect from 6 a.m. Wednesday, June 22, to 6 a.m. Sunday, June 26, at which time the water tower will be drained to perform scheduled maintenance.
“We will all be required to conserve water to ensure the city wells and booster can maintain a required pressure to protect our water utility infrastructure,” said City Administrator Ben Benton.
If the required pressure is not maintained, back flow and contamination may occur and the city may be required to chlorinate the water, sample the water daily or put a boil order in place.
During the four-day restriction, res idents are not allowed to water lawns; use automated sprinkler systems; water gardens, trees or shrubs; fill pools; wash vehicle; or conduct any outdoor watering activities.
Water will be safe and allowed for drinking, cooking, washing laundry, and bathing.
Benton said he appreciates all residents doing their part.
