Randolph Community Golf Course awarded three grants totaling $4000

RANDOLPH — Janelle Biernbaum, Economic Development Director for the City of Randolph was notified April 13, 2020, that the community had received three grant awards which she had applied for the Randolph Community Golf Course.

Darrin Nordhues, an avid golfer from Randolph who is an employee of Purina Animal Nutrition, which is owned by Land O’ Lakes, advised Biernbaum of grant opportunities through the Land O’ Lakes Foundation in January, when an application was submitted by Biernbaum to the Foundation.

Requirements of submitting a grant to the Land O’ Lakes Foundation required matching funds from other local agricultural related businesses. Nordhues contacted Brad Bargstadt, General Manager for Randolph Farm Supply, Inc., who sought and received approval from his Board of Directors for matching funds. Nordhues also provided contact information for Biernbaum, to request matching funds from Central Valley Ag, also a local business whose Corporate Office is in York to seek matching grant funds as well.

Randolph Farm Supply, Inc. awarded a $2000 grant to the golf course with matching funds of $1000 from CVA, and $1000 from Land O’ Lakes Foundation.

The grant application was submitted for repairs and maintenance for the Randolph Golf Course Club house.

“This a great investment from our agricultural partners for our community’s Club House,” said Benton, in accepting the grants totaling $4000. “This will allow us to make some of the needed repairs and maintenance needs for our aging Club House. And, I would like to especially thank Darrin Nordhues for his insight into this grant for our community needs.” .
