Putting on a show at the Pierce County fair

Noah Krepps (top picture) was one of the bull fighters showing his skills on Friday night at the Pierce County Fair. Twelve young men braved the bulls in the ring at the fair to see who could stay in front of the 1,000-lb. animals and earn the most points. They were judged on style, control and how close they were to the bull.

True Weinrich of Pierce (center, at right) stole the show — and the mic — at the bucket calf competition Saturday morning. True, who was in line with his calf behind his sister, saw her being interviewed by Ed Huwaldt, and couldn’t wait to find out what was going on. He came forward and stole the show as he stole the mic from Ed, to the delight of everyone in the audience. Dad Travis (shown at right) says that is definitely True’s personality!
