Pierce County Republicans hear from senator's office
PIERCE - The Pierce County Republican Committee convened on Tuesday, April 4, at the Pierce Public Library with the meeting opening at 7 p.m. with Pledge of Allegiance and prayer, led by county Chairman Bradley Lewon.
Chairman Bradley Lewon began the meeting by introducing Cole Lumsden representing Senator Deb Fischer’s campaign. Lumsden shared that Senator Fischer wanted to thank Pierce County for re-establishment of an active county GOP.
He also shared statements of Senator Fischer regarding the political persecution of former President Donald Trump. These actions shine a light on the gravity of what is happening in the country now, he said. It was also shared the Senator's concern regarding the threat of China and the need for the country to be in military and nuclear readiness. Senator Fischer was also at the southern border last month and was deeply concerned at the openness of the border and the national security issues arising from the open border.
Senator Fischer also defends the sanctity of life and the second amendment. Lumsden took questions and comments from those present and promised as soon as he left the meeting he would share with Senator Fischer the concerns of county citizens and her constituents.
Chairman Lewon continued the meeting with thanking Bob Christensen for all the work he has done on preliminary drafting of the Pierce County constitution. The chairman was now looking for others to help continue the forming of the county constitution.
The following individuals volunteered to be on the constitution subcommittee: Dana Harris, Bob Christensen, Chris Delka, Ron Paulsen and Nate Codr. The chairman will be in touch with these members for further work on the constitution.
