Osmond meeting for Groundwater Management planned this month

OSMOND — Three citizen meetings have been scheduled in the Bazile Groundwater Management area. The goal of these meetings is to have everyone who lives, works or farms within the Bazile Groundwater Management Area participate in a discussion about water quality issue in the area that includes the communities of:

• Brunswick

• Creighton

• Orchard

• Plainveiw

• Wausa

• Bazile Mills

• Foster

• Osmond

• Royal

• Winnetoon

These meetings are an opportunity for citizens to voice their opinions and concerns regarding groundwater contamination throughout the area.

Meeting Locations and Dates

• Orchard – Rex Theatre (223 Windom Street) on Tuesday, March 10, 6:30-8:30 p.m.

• Creighton – Creighton Golf Course (87190 Highway 13) on Tuesday, March 17, 1-3 p.m.

• Osmond – St. Mary’s Elementary School Basement (302 East 5th Street) on Thursday, March 19, 6:30-8:30 p.m.

Free nitrate testing will be available on site. Bring a water sample in a small, clean bottle and determine the nitrate level in your well.

Refreshments and light snacks will be provided.
