Osmond General Hospital Senior Life Solutions program welcomes new program director

OSMOND — Osmond General Hospital is pleased to welcome Nikki Houlden, APRN as the new program director at the Senior Life Solutions program.

Senior Life Solutions, an intensive outpatient group therapy program, is designed to meet the unique needs of older adults typically ages 65 and older struggling with age-related depression, anxiety, difficult life transitions, a recent health diagnosis, or the loss of a loved one.

As program director, Nikki will be responsible for directing and coordinating the activities of program staff to ensure quality patient care, and providing community education to create awareness of the program.

Nikki has been a nurse for the last 13 years; working in intensive care, emergency medicine, longterm care, short-term rehabilitation and psychiatry. Prior to working in nursing, Nikki obtained a bachelor of science degree in human service counseling and worked in addiction medicine. Two years ago, she graduated from UNMC with her master’s degree in nursing and has worked in outpatient psychiatry as a nurse practitioner since that time.

Nikki, said, “Mental Health has always been a passion of mine, as well as improving health care and available resources to our rural Nebraska communities; as a nurse practitioner I understand the impact mental health plays on an individual’s overall health and therefore I am beyond excited to begin my new role as program director for the Senior Life Solutions program because I know how impactful this program can be to improve the lives of our patients.”

Family members, physicians, self-referrals, or other health professionals can refer individuals to the program. For information on Osmond General Hospital’s Senior Life Solutions program, call (402) 748-3393 or visit www.oghne.com.
