Loynachans to perform at threshing bee; Endorfs to give presentation

PIERCE — The Loynachans, a Southern Gospel music trio, will be the featured entertainment at this year’s Pierce Old-time Threshers Bee. They will perform on Sunday, Sept. 19, at 9 a.m. during the church service.

The Loynachans sing Southern and Contemporary Southern Gospel music. This trio has been spreading the good news of Jesus Christ in churches, nursing homes, prisons, homeless shelters, picnics, ice cream socials and other venues in Alaska, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, Nebraska, Tennessee and Wisconsin. The group includes Jack and Judy Loynachan, their daughter, Jamie, and her husband, Cory, who travels as the group’s full-time sound man.

In 1995,  Jack sang his first church solo and continued singing from then on out, ministering through special music and at local nursing homes. Jack sang in a few quartets but they never got off the ground. In 1997, Jack and daughter Jamie, joined by music director Kevin Eilders, formed a trio that showed promise. When Jamie went to college, wife Judy joined the group known as “New Attitude.” When Kevin decided to travel with a different group, Jamie came home and The Loynachans were formed in 1998 and have been going strong ever since.

‘No Time on My Hands’

Kevin and Charlotte Endorf, authors and professional speakers, will present “No Time on My Hands: The Story of Grace Snyder” at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday. The Endorfs’ presentation will include a display about Grace, who lived to be 100 years old.

Grace had three dreams: to grow up and marry a cowboy, to look down on the top of a cloud, and to grow up to make the most beautiful quilts in the world. Grace became nationally recognized for the skill and complexity of her quilts. The Congress of Quilters Hall of Fame in Arlington, VA, inducted her in 1980, as did the Nebraska Quilters Hall of Fame in 1986.
