Library project is labor of love for Morfelds

OSMOND — Last year, the library project in the children’s area was completed. Seniors from the Class of 2020 who were in art class painted the mural on the walls. Michael Koehler put in the carpet, built the loft, hung new blinds in the windows, and hung up the sensory boards on the wall.

Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic did not allow the community to enjoy it until now.

The library project was done in memory of Mia Morfeld, the daughter of Marcus and Sarah Morfeld, who died in 2017 at five weeks of age due to congenital heart defects. The Morfelds started their foundation, “Forever, Mia,” in her memory.

Sarah said about the project, “We wanted to do something in our community in her honor and we decided on the Children’s Library Project. We hope kids come and enjoy their amazing public library!”
