Knox Co. Fair will go on, but with some changes

BLOOMFIELD — The coronavirus pandemic has forced area residents to break with tradition on many things this year.

One tradition that will not be broken, however, is the Knox County Fair.

While other fairs have either cancelled their events all together, or scaled everything back to just a 4H livestock and static exhibits, the Knox County Fair is going full steam ahead.

This year’s Fair will begin Thursday, Aug. 13 with Sounds Unlimited providing the musical entertainment.

The famed DC Lynch Carnival will also be on hand, but they will not bring their rides — only carnival games and food vendors will be on hand.

The Bull-o-Rama takes center stage Friday night.

The Northeast Nebraska Tractor Pull is slated for the Saturday afternoon entertainment, while Hairball will take to the grandstand stage at 8 p.m. Saturday night for a rock concert.

Hartington native Casey Rossiter will perform in the beer garden prior to Saturday’s concert. The Eastern Heights group will follow Hairball with a Saturday night beer garden performance.

Other COVID-19 restrictions may also be put in place at this year’s Fair.
