Innovation Studio has arrived at the Lied Randolph Public Library

RANDOLPH — This week we are highlighting the Carvey CNC router machine. This machine can make beautiful, durable, and functional objects from wood and plastic. The Carvey uses a variety of bits to precisely carve, cut, and engrave materials. The library will be selling a variety of consumables for your convenience.

Create your design in Easel, a free, cloud-based program at home or in the library, then come in to carve it with staff assistance. You will need to make an appointment and complete basic training on the machine before using it.

You can call us at 402-337-0046 or email us at liedrandolphpubliclibrary@gmail.com to set up a time or for more information.

The studio equipment also includes, Laser Cutter Station, Vinyl Cutter Station, CNC Router, Embroidery/Sewing Machine, Heat Press, Lego Mindstorm, Arduino Starter Kit, Laminator Kit, Sparkfun Inventor’s Kit, MakeyMakey Kit, Music & Recording Kit, Camera/Video Kit with green screen, and a Button Maker Kit. These machines will be available for the next 20 weeks.

The Nebraska Library Innovation Studios: Transforming Rural Communities project is supported in part by the Nebraska Library Commission, partnering with the University of Nebraska Lincoln Nebraska Innovation Studio, Nebraska Extension, and Regional Library Systems. The project is funded through a National Leadership Grant awarded by the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS grant #LG-95-17-0046-17).
