Grocery Store will have new owners

LAUREL — Gary and Charlotte Anderson have announced plans to sell their Laurel grocery store.

Anderson said Gary’s Foodtown grocery store is being sold to Brenda Whalen and James Roberts.

Anderson said the official transaction is expected to take place on March 1.

Whalen is a Laurel native, who is happy to be moving back to the area to take over the store. 

The couple plans to be in the store quite a bit prior to the transition as they, “learn the ropes.”
