Get ready, Santa Claus is coming to town

WAUSA — Area residents are urged to make plans to visit Santa as part of the Christmas in Wausa festivities Monday, December 9. Santa will be arriving at 5 p.m. after strolling through Main street to the Library. Bring your Christmas lists, sit and chat with Santa and say Hello to Mrs. Claus.

Wendy will then have a Christmas Ornament for children to make. Join the fun up stairs where sprinkles and frosting and cookies will adorn the room! Decorate a Christmas cookie with Santa’s elves!

Then browse down main street! Businesses will be open from 5 – 7 p.m. Everyone is invited to stop, shop and sip! Wishing everyone a warm and wonderful Merry Christmas! On the East end of Main street watch the “Live Nativity” by Viking Lumber. Thanks to Thabor Lutheran youth, we will be brought back to the day of Jesus’ birth. They will perform at 5:30 p.m. and again at 6:30 p.m.

Do you like to search and find things??? Then join us at the intersection between the Bank and Main Street Grocery. A Scavenger Hunt will be organized at 5:45 or right after the “Live Nativity”. Groups of 4 are encouraged. Prizes will be awarded. Winners will be announced at 7 p.m. at the Village Tree.

Along Main Street you will find the trolley down by Bill’s place, minute to win it games – such as Craziest Tree Decorating, Sidewalk Picasso and corn hole. Stop in at Carlson’s Home and Auto, where you can make gingerbread treats with Chelsey, and also tree decorations with the Medical Clinic staff. Decorate the Village tree with your creations. Don’t forget to enter the Viking Bucks drawing by gathering 10 business stamps on the back of your tickets.

Join the Community at the Village Christmas tree at 7 p.m. for announcements of winners of our various contests or drawings, sing some carols and wish everyone a MERRY CHRISTMAS as the Village Christmas tree lights are lit.

There is fun for your entire family, so please bring everyone you know and join us Monday, December 9 from 5 – 7:15 – down town Wausa!

This is a Community Club sponsored event. We thank all the businesses for participating and monetary donations. Committee members are Sarah Wynia, Candice Backer, Nichole Aiken, Cristi Munter, Chris Johnson. Volunteers are always welcomed – if you would like to help December 9, please give Chris a call at 586-2718.
