Free concert, meal planned here

LAUREL — United Lutheran Church is sponsoring a free meal and concert at 6 p.m., July 25, at Laurel’s City Park.

The concert will feature the family musical group, “Stones Cry.” They play worship and inspirational songs in an easy listening style.

Concert goers are encouraged to bring their own lawn chair to the event.

The group is made up of Joel Finnesgard, June, his wife of 31 years; and their children, Joy, 15; and Josiah, 13.

Joel plays the trumpet and some bass and electric guitar. June plays the drums and sings. Joy provides lead vocals on several songs along with acoustic guitar, violin and keyboard. Josiah plays the electric bass, electric guitar, hollow body 12 string electric guitar and does some singing.

Stones Cry travels throughout much of the country. They spend most winters in the southern half of the country and travel to other regions the rest of the year.
