Eagle Scout project benefits Coleridge school

COLERIDGE —Austin Hall leads a very full life. His schedule is filled with school activities like football, track and field, one act, and FBLA, church duties like usher and sound technician, and he even finds time to help his father Jay Hall on the farm.

Amidst all of this, Hall, a senior at Laurel-Concord-Coleridge School, recently completed his Eagle Scout Project.

The project consisted of installing new basketball hoops at the Laurel-Concord-Coleridge Middle School in Coleridge.

“I spent a lot of time at that playground as a child since my grandparents lived just up the street,” he said.

The improvement will serve many youth for years to come.

Hall is a member of Boys Scout Troop 208 and was assisted by six dads and nine other Scouts for the project.

Being an Eagle Scout is a family tradition for the Hall family.

“My dad and my uncles are all Eagle Scouts. This is very important to me.” he said.

Hall recalls his other accomplishments in Boy Scouts “I am proud of the time we biked 50 miles in one day. I’ve enjoyed getting out and learning, but most of all making memories.”

Hall plans to use his ambition to attend college at Northeast Community College and study Diversified Ag.

Hall is the son of Jay and Angie Hall, Coleridge.
