Election filing deadlines are fast approaching
CENTER — Candidate filings continue to take place in the Knox County Clerk’s Office and at the Secretary of State’s Office.
The incumbent filing deadline is fast approaching.
The incumbent filing deadline is 5 p.m. on Tuesday, February
18. The non-incumbent filing deadline is Monday, March 2 at 5 p.m.
These Primary Election filing deadlines apply to the following local races:
Supervisors Districts 2, 4, and 6; the City Council Members At Large for Bloomfield, Creighton and Crofton; City Airport Authorities for Bloomfield and Creighton; and all Class III School Boards of Bloomfield, Creighton, Crofton, Nebraska Unified District #1-Verdigre School, Niobrara, Santee and Wausa.
Many of the Federal and State races also have the same filing deadlines.
Recent Primary Election candidates filing in the Knox County Clerk’s Office were:
For Bloomfield School Board – Incumbent Jason Hefner
For Creighton School Board – Incumbents Matthew L. Fritz and Greg Kuhlman
For Crofton School Board – Michael Janssen and Incumbent Lisa Van Heek
For Nebraska Unified District #1 – Verdigre School Board – Incumbent Jemi Frederick
For Wausa School Board – Otto Woockman
For Bloomfield City Council members At Large – Incumbent Scott A Ober
The following candidate filings were made recently at the Secretary of State’s Office:
For United States Senator – Larry Marvin, Democratic and Angie Philips, Democratic
For Representative in Congress District 3 –Incumbent Adrian Smith, Republican
Lewis & Clark NRD For Board of Directors Subdistrict 1 – Incumbent Russell J. Schmidt
Lower Elkhorn NRD For Board of Directors Subdistrict 1 – Incumbent Aaron J. Zimmerman
