Election filing deadlines are drawing near

CENTER — The incumbent filing deadline for the 2020 General Election is now over. Non-incumbents still have until 5:00 p.m. on Monday, August 3, 2020 to file for the races of Village Boards, Cedar-Knox Public Power District Board Subdistrict 3, North Central Public Power District Board Subdistricts 2 & 3, and Educational Service Units #1 District 10 and Unit #8 District 4.

The Knox County Clerk’s Office will be open until 5:00 p.m. on August 3 to accommodate non-incumbents wishing to file for Village Boards of Trustees. The Secretary of State’s Office will also be open until 5:00 p.m. to take filings for the Public Power Boards and the ESU Boards.

Recent filings in the Knox County Clerk’s Office were:

Center Village Board of Trustees – Incumbent Tricia L. Smith

Santee Village Board of Trustees – Incumbent Susan L. Kitto

Wausa Village Board of Trustees – Incumbent Ron R. Nelson

Winnetoon Village Board of Trustees – Incumbent Robert Folck

One new Write-in Affidavit was filed in the Knox County Clerk’s Office by Kristine Flyinghawk for the Niobrara Public School Board.
