CVA awards Colt sponsorship to LCC FFA Chapter

YORK — Central Valley Ag (CVA) recently awarded Laurel-Concord-Coleridge FFA Chapter with a sponsorship to send its officer team to the Chapter Officer Leadership Training (COLT) to be held in May.

The Laurel-Concord-Coleridge FFA Chapter won the sponsorship by participating in CVA’s Co-op Month challenge held this past October. The challenge was open to all FFA chapters within the cooperative’s immediate trade territory. FFA chapters were invited to celebrate National Co-op Month by submitting a photo and writing a short paragraph explaining what a cooperative means for their community.

All participating FFA chapters received a backpack, but one lucky FFA chapter was randomly drawn to receive a CVA sponsorship that covered the registration fees for officers to attend their state’s leadership training.

Laurel-Concord-Coleridge FFA Chapter wrote for their entry, “Even though the Laurel-Concord-Coleridge area doesn’t have a CVA in town, the community still feels the impact of the co-op. Our local CVA is only 30 minutes away from area farmers. This provides the farmers with options on where they want to take their grain. With several grain location options, comes competition between the different businesses and creates an opportunity for other local elevators and co-ops to have competitors that help drive prices up and down. Central Valley Ag has been a supporter the Nebraska FFA Organization for many years and continues to provide opportunities for the future agriculture generation.”

CVA is committed to supporting local FFA chapters in their mission to develop agricultural leaders for the future. Several ways CVA can assist FFA educational endeavors includes: classroom speakers, job shadowing, contest judging, location tours, and scholarships.

Please reach out to your local CVA location or contact CVA’s Human Resource Department for more information.
