County officials say people are still driving closed roads

HARTINGTON — Cedar County Commissioners said at their May 14 meeting that people are still driving on roads that have been closed by the County.

Commissioners said several road closure and local traffic only signs have been destroyed or damaged as people have ignored the signs and proceeded on the road with cars, trucks and farm equipment despite the caution signs.

Some new signs will need to be acquired to replace the damaged ones.

The county is working as efficiently as possible to get the bridges fixed and the roads opened as quickly as possible, said Commission Chairman Dave McGregor.
