Community HOME Team plans movie night

OSMOND — Members of Community HOME Team met on Tuesday, July 13, at Thomsen’s Corner for their bi-monthly meeting.

The group had considered having a pancake feed in August, but that idea has now been discarded, since the event that had been planned for during Summerfest on June 27 was still held that day even though the rest of that celebration was canceled.

Instead, the organization is now planning a back-to-school movie night at Poolside Park on Sunday, Aug. 8. More information about that event will be released in coming weeks.

The group again discussed having welcome baskets available for newcomers to Osmond. A volunteer is needed for this project, and members stressed that for this and other projects the group sponsors, volunteers do not need to be in charge of everything. Once this project has been started and baskets assembled (with the help of other members), it will just be a matter of delivering the baskets whenever someone new moves to town. The group would also like to remind

The group would also like to remind residents that Community HOME Team is for anyone is Osmond and the surrounding area, including business persons, farmers, etc. There are currently no dues, and meetings are generally every other month.

There are usually only a few events scheduled each year, including the Easter egg hunt, Santa Day, Halloween costume contest, Summerfest and a pancake feed fund-raiser. If more Osmond citizens participate, that will spread the workload so that no one has to shoulder the whole responsibility.

The next meeting of Community HOME Team will be next Tuesday, July 27, at 7 p.m. at 3rd Street Bar & Grill.
