Christmas Wishes to be different; Sons are still helping community

OSMOND — Because of the COVID-19 virus, the Osmond Sons of the American Legion (SAL) are changing their annual Christmas celebration and fundraiser to mail-in or a GoFundMe program over the Internet and Facebook.

SAL members said, “As always, Christmas is a time of celebration and reflection of thankfulness for all the physical and emotional gifts we have received over the past year! Unfortunately, some individuals and families have hardships and financial woes to bear. Our Osmond Sons of the Legion, with the community’s help, strives to assist them with some kindness and some small financial help.”

Those who would like to contribute to the annual fundraiser should send donations to: Sons of American Legion, P.O. Box 181, Osmond, NE 68765.

Also, Bob Hupp will perform on his Facebook page at https://www. facebook.com/bob.hupp.52 on Sunday evening, Dec. 13, from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. for a live broadcast from downtown Osmond. Bob will be entertaining, and the community is invited to watch, and call in donations!

The purpose of the “Christmas Wishes” program is to raise money for families who could use a little extra help at Christmas time. To nominate individuals or families for Christmas Wishes, contact any Osmond Sons of the American Legion member or call Jim Schmit (402) 649-1011.
