Christmas in Osmond to be held on December 3

OSMOND — Activities are in place for the annual “Christmas in Osmond” to be held on Thursday, Dec. 3; however, things will look a little different this year. “Christmas in Osmond” is sponsored by Community HOME Team.

Santa’s Headquarters will be set up in the window of the Osmond Senior Center. From 6 to 7 p.m., kids can wave to Santa and drop off their wish lists in the basket outside the door.

Scavenger Hunt

While there, they will receive an old-fashioned bag of treats and a scavenger hunt card. The scavenger hunt will lead families around town to see Christmas lights, with a list of various decoration items to find, such as stocking, reindeer, angel, etc.

After finding all the items, drop off the card in the drop box next to the Osmond Republican door.

Residents are encouraged to have their Christmas decorations up by that date to help with the fun and bring back Osmond’s designation as Nebraska’s “Christmas City.”

Business Drawings

Some businesses, as usual, will have special features during regular hours, and several will have containers for drawing registrations.

Since there will be no activities at the city auditorium, businesses who other years had their containers at that location are encouraged to hold the drawings at their place of business this year.

Osmond Mini Mart will have free cups of hot cocoa for the first 100 persons who stop in that night.
