Cedar County 4-H welcomes Urwiler as summer program leader

HARTINGTON — A new face at the Extension Office this summer is Aurora Urwiler, Laurel.

Urwiler is working as the 4-H Youth Development Summer Program Leader. She is taking the lead and assisting with several camps and workshops this summer. During the COVID shutdown, Urwiler helped in live streaming the livestock shows.

“I am excited to get to know everyone and work with all the 4-H members,” Urwiler said. “I can’t wait to see all their hard work displayed at the fair.”

Urwiler is work alongside Megan Hanefeldt, 4-H Educator; Jackie Steffen, Learning Child Educator; and Ben Beckman, Beef Systems Educator; along with Mary Lou Steffen and Marsha Wuebben at the Cedar County Extension Office.

Urwiler is a Cedar County native and 4-H alumn. She was an active member of 4-H for 10 years and enjoyed her 4-H experience. She showed livestock, sewed many different projects, created a handful of crafts, and did some baking as well. Urwiler graduated from Laurel-Concord-Coleridge School in 2018 and went on to attend the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture. She later transferred to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She is currently majoring in agriculture education and plans on teaching agriculture classes and serving as an FFA advisor.
