Blaze earns five medals in debut

CREIGHTON — The new wrestling co-operative between LCC and Randolph, the Quad County Northeast Blaze, made their debut Saturday and earned five medals at the Creighton Invitational.

The Blaze had a pair of consolation finalists, one of whom brought home a third-place medal. Tie Hollandsworth did the job at 152 pounds for the Blaze, pinning Patrick Vinson of Osmond early in the third period to claim third-place honors.

Colby Wathor and Fischer Carson both earned fourth-place medals for the Blaze. Wathor lost in the consolation finals at 182 pounds, while Carson fell in the third-place match at 285 pounds.

Kolby Casey finished the day with a fifth-place medal, getting a pin in his final match at 195 pounds. Levi Jackson was a sixth-place finisher at 182 pounds.

The Blaze will wrestle in the West Point-Beemer duals tournament on Saturday in West Point.
