Annual Pierce Old Time Threshing Bee cancelled

PIERCE — The Pierce Old Time Threshing Bee Association has announced the cancellation of the annual 2020 Pierce Threshing Bee. The decision was made during a June 30, meeting of the Association. This marks the first cancellation of the event in its 44-year history. The bee had been scheduled for Sept. 12 and 13, at the Pierce County Fairgrounds.

“We’re an all-volunteer organization,” Mike Kroupa, president of the association, said. “We rely on a lot of community volunteers to come and help us. When we looked at the whole picture, there was a lot of unknowns, and of course, the safety and well-being of the community played into [the decision], too.”

Case tractors and farming equipment were to be showcased at the 2020 Threshing Bee. Case products will instead be featured at next year’s threshing bee.
