Aaron von Rentzell is top vote-getter in school election

Unofficial results of General Election released

OSMOND — Unofficial results of the Tuesday, Nov. 6, General Election reveal that, in the District 42R School Board race, incumbent Aaron von Rentzell was the top vote-getter with 354 in a vote-for-three situation, with Tyler Gansebom garnering 353 votes and LaDonna Stanosheck, 274, while the remaining candidates' numbers are as follows: Eric Wattier, 191; Erin Schultze, 190; Dan Heiman, 181.

 

In the "vote for two" Osmond City Council race, Neil Wattier, 192, and Dan Timmerman, 169, were the top vote-getters, while incumbents Dennis Haselhorst and Melissa Hoppe received 138 and 123 votes, respectively.

 

Two other issues voted on locally were for the issuance of bonds for the purpose of constructing and equipping a swimming pool, and modification to existing sales and use tax, for the purpose of paying a portion of the bonds for the swimming pool. Both needed to pass in order to move forward, and both did, with votes of 226 for and 86 against Proposition 1 and 219 for and 94 against Proposition 2.

 

Jim Schmit received 758 votes, and a write-in 42, in the race for District 2 Commissioner for Pierce County.

 

In other election news, Deb Fischer received the most votes for United States Senator, with 271,928 votes, while Jane Raybould received 190,116 and Jim Schultz received 16,108. In Pierce County voting, Fischer received 2,339; Raybould, 341, and Schultz, 84. In the District 3 Congressional race, Adrian Smith defeated Paul Theobald 125,703 to 37,218. In Pierce County, Smith received 2,367 votes to Theobald’s 381.

 

In the Governor's race, incumbent Pete Ricketts received the most votes, with 277,656, compared to opponent Bob Krist's 198,940. In Pierce County, Ricketts received 2,377 votes compared to 398 for Krist.

County Treasurer: Christine Bahr, 2,587
