HARTINGTON — The chief social interest in the coming primary election seems to be centered in the second commissioner district where four Republicans and one Democrat have filed for nomination. Those Republicans who have filed are W. H. Whittie, Randolph; Wade Chapman, Rand-lph; Ed Gartner, Randolph; and John Arp, Belden. V. C. Havorka, Randolph, was the Democrat who filed.

HARTINGTON — Two weeks of wild selling on the national markets has had a correspond-ing effect on local markets. Oats are selling at 92 cents compared to $1.25 two weeks ago. Corn is about $1.70 compared to $2.36 a bushel two weeks ago.
