Lady Bears split a pair of close contests

LAUREL — After losing a heartbreaker at home Tuesday, the LCC Lady Bears bounced back with a nail-biter win over Creighton Friday to improve to 6-8 on the season.

The Lady Bears made a comeback against Wayne that came up two points short on LCC’s home floor, as the visitors escaped with a 60-58 win.

The game was a close battle throughout and Wayne led by seven going to the fourth quarter. LCC came back with a 23-18 fourth-quarter rally and had a chance to tie or win the game, but Wayne held on to claim the win.

Lorna Maxon scored a teamhigh 14 points and Erica Wolfgram added 12 in the losing effort. Makayla Forsberg and Delaney Ehlers both had seven points, while Bethany Kardell, Kinsey Hall and Madisyn Hall each had six points.
