New candidate receives most votes in LCC School Board race
LAUREL - One new face will be joining the Laurel-Concord-Coleridge School Board for the next term.
Bryan Pippitt received enough votes to earn his place. In fact, he received the most votes (643) in the most contested race in the county that saw seven candidates vying for four spots.
The three incumbents joining Pippitt for a term on the school board include Jay Hall with 636 votes; Scott Taylor with 627 votes; and Grant Settje with 488 votes.
Those unsuccessful in their bids for a seat on the LCC board were: new candidate Cade Sohler with 465 votes; and incumbents Daniel Kuhlman (406 votes) and Angela Johnson (357 votes.)
The LCC School Board intentionally reduced its number of board members from nine to seven. The number of members to be elected to four-year terms are four this year, three in 2024 and four in 2026, and so on.
