Lady Bears earn split in home triangular

LAUREL — The LCC volleyball team made quick work against Bloomfield before losing to Hartington- Newcastle in a home triangular Tuesday at LCC High School. The Lady Bears defense limited Bloomfield to just seven kills in a two-set win over the Queen Bees, 25-10, 25-7. Erica Wolfgram had seven kills of her own to lead the LCC attack, with Lorna Maxon adding five, Erica Benson putting three away and Kinsey Hall adding two. Hall and Delaney Ehlers each had eight assists. Ehlers had four ace serves, Maxon added three and Jozie Schutte had two. Benson had three blocks, Hall had eight digs and a block, Maxon added seven digs, Ehlers and Wolfgram each had four digs and Schutte picked up three. In the finale of the triangular, LCC couldn’t quite finish the deal against Hartington-Newcastle as the Wildcats escaped with a 25- 21, 25-16 victory.
