Bears bounce back strong to sink Pirates

PONCA — The LCC boys basketball team bounced back well from a loss to the twotime defending Class C-2 champions with a dominating effort to highlight a 1-1 week on the road.

On Tuesday, the Bears squared off with Ponca on the road and gave the top team in Class C-2 a good battle before coming up short in a 70-56 decision at Ponca High School.

The game was back and forth throughout much of the first half as the two teams played aggressively on both ends of the court.

Ponca led 23-18 late in the first half when Ty Erwin got the ball to Cael Hartung for a basket, then followed with an assist on an Izac Reifenrath 3-pointer that tied the game at 23-23.
