Klooz resigns, the search for a new LCC Supt. is now on

WINSIDE — Laurel-Concord-Coleridge took two wrestlers to Saturday’s Winside Invitational and came away with a pair of top-six finishes in the 12-team tournament.

Ethan Williams led the way for the Bear grapplers with a runner-up finish at 285 pounds. He won four matches on pins, all coming in the first period, before losing a 9-6 decision to Tommie Peed of Clearwater/ Orchard in the championship match.

Michael Kurtzhals went 1-3 in round-robin action at 160 pounds. His lone win of the day was a major decision over Colby Wathor of Randolph, winning 17-9.

LAUREL — Laurel City Council members took steps on the sale of city property and approved a building permit at the Jan. 8 Laurel City Council meeting. Council members are also dealing with an increase in health insurance for employees. Council members agreed to have the first reading of ordinance 564-2018 that deals with the sale of city real estate to Samuel Recob. The total sum of the sale on property in Hillcrest Addition is $4,070.

Board members placed their approval on a building permit for Cedar View Ag. Inc. The permit is for an 80X40 foot grain storage pole shed.
