City tables several issues until August

LAUREL — Citizens expecting hearty discussions on the city auditorium and the 2017-2018 audit will have to wait until August.

The Laurel City Council moved four agenda items to later dates during its regular meeting Monday.

The Council tabled the consideration and/or the approval to accept or reject the bids on the roof replacement for the city auditorium. Though no discussion took place, city administrator Mark McCoy mentioned progress in his monthly report. About one-third of the roof has been turned into the city’s insurance as wind damaged, the report said. The administrators report indicated the adjuster has come and McCoy is waiting for the final numbers.

The 2017-2018 audit was on the agenda to be presented, but was tabled until next month as more information will become available. In a similar move, the council tabled its discussion of the city’s five year financial planning.
