Area residents prepare for special Veterans Day events

LAUREL — Area veterans will be recognized and honored during special Veterans’ Day ceremonies here next week. The annual Laurel community Veterans Day program is scheduled for Monday, Nov. 11 beginning at 9:30 a.m. The program will be held in the main gym at the Laurel-Concord-Coleridge School. Wyatt Taylor, a senior at LCC, will be the speaker for the event. Taylor is the son of Scott and Christy Taylor, Laurel. He has joined the United States Navy. Music for Monday morning’s event will be provided by the LCC Band and Choral Dept. under the direction of Patti Beyeler and Jenni Lundahl.  Colors will be presented by the Laurel Legion and VFW. A special Veterans’ Day Breakfast will be held at the Veterans’ Club from 8-9 a.m. prior to the program at the school.
