Lady Bears volleyball team takes sixth place at Wakefield

WAKEFIELD — The LCC volleyball team came away with a sixth-place finish in the Wakefield Invitational volleyball tournament over the weekend.

On Thursday, the Lady Bears dropped their first poolplay match to Lutheran High Northeast (25-18, 25-11) before rebounding for a 25-23, 25-20 win over Homer. They finished pool play Saturday with a 25-14, 25-20 loss to eventual champion Ponca.

In the consolation bracket, the Lady Bears defeated Pierce in an exciting three-set match, 10-25, 28-26, 25-18 before ending the tournament with a two-set loss to the host Trojans, 25-22, 25-21.
