Bears run away with 50-0 home shutout
LAUREL — The Laurel-Concord-Coleridge Bears’ home debut was a successful one, as they ran away with a 50-0 win over Winnebago on Friday at Haskell Field.
The Bears got on the board with a 14-yard run by Ty Erwin to take a 6-0 lead after one period, but lit up the Indians in the second half to make it a 28-0 halftime advantage.
Erwin and Noah Schutte connected on a pair of touchdown passes, the first from 44 yards and the second from 16. The Bears closed the half with a sevenyard Cael Hartung scoring surge to give the Bears the big halftime edge.
