Bears explode for a big Homecoming win

LAUREL — After losing their first game of the season the previous week, the Laurel-Concord-Coleridge Bears took out their frustrations at Homecoming.

The Bears erupted for 36 points in the second quarter to turn a close game into a laugher, pulling away for a 68-29 win over Madison Friday at Haskell Field to get back on the winning side and improve to 4-1.

Madison got out to a 13-8 advantage in the first period, sandwiching a pair of long touchdown passes around a 16-yard connection between Ty Erwin and Noah Schutte to give the visiting Dragons the early edge.
