LCC boys are third, girls finish fifth at Wayne Invitational

WAYNE — The Laurel-Concord-Coleridge boys track team posted a solid third-place finish, and the Lady Bears placed fifth in a competitive six-school meet at last week’s Wayne Invitational.

LCC’s boys came away with wins in three events. Cody Babl took top honors in the high jump with a best leap of 6 feet, 2 inches; Deagan Puppe won the 110-meter hurdles in 17.01 seconds and Landen Boysen broke the tape in the 800-meter run in 2:13.73 to highlight the LCC boys’ effort.

Puppe added a second-place finish in the 300-meter hurdles (47.49) and the 3,200-meter relay of Boysen, Jayden Pick, Dillon Olson and Ryan Bathke came home with runner-up honors with a time of 9:40.46.
