Bears punch tickets to state track meet

HARTINGTON — The Laurel-Concord-Coleridge track teams will both be represented inside Burke Stadium this week for the Nebraska State Track and Field Championships.

Both the Bears and Lady Bears punched a total of six tickets to the state meet after finishing in the top two in four individual events at Thursday’s C-4 district track meet at the Hartington Community Complex.

Erica Wolfgram secured two Lady Bear entries by winning two events. She won the high jump on a cool, windy morning with a winning mark of 4 feet, 10 inches, then outjumped a Wakefield competitor by two inches to claim top honors in the long jump with a best mark of 15-5 1/2.
