Bears host rescheduled golf invitational

LAUREL — Although it was a cool and windy day, Thursday was a better day for the LCC Invitational golf tournament than when it had been scheduled earlier in the season and was moved due to snow and cold conditions.

The rescheduled meet drew eight full teams, along with partial teams from LCC and Homer. Hartington Cedar Catholic edged Wayne by five shots for the team title, shooing a 344. Wayne followed with a 349 and Pierce was third with a 357.

In the individual race, Ted Benston of Cedar Catholic shot a 79 to beat three golfers by one shot. Chaden Roth of Pierce won the scorecard playoff for second with an 80, followed by 80’s from Riley Kuehn of Cedar Catholic and Evan Anderson of Pender.
