Hanefeldt helps expand services at Cedar County Extension

HARTINGTON — A new face joined the Nebraska Extension team Sept. 1. Megan Hanefeldt is serving Cedar County as the new 4-H/Youth Development Educator. Her main office is in Center, and she oversees both the Cedar and Knox County 4-H programs.

Hanefeldt joins Jackie Steffen and Ben Beckman who are located in the Cedar County Extension Office. Steffen has transitioned to a Learning Child Educator and focuses on youth ages birth-8. Her programming targets adults who care for young children by providing high-quality professional development that sets the stage for lifelong learning, discovery and success. She covers Cedar, Knox, Antelope, Boone, and Nance counties.

Beckman is a beef systems educator providing support for livestock producers in Antelope, Cedar, Knox, Madison and Pierce counties. He has a background in pasture management and grazing systems, but provides assistance in all livestock and pasture related areas from ration balancing to herd management.
